Meta has quietly launched a dedicated Instagram app for Apple TV, expanding its living-room presence following earlier rollouts on Google TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Samsung Smart TVs.

First discovered in the tvOS App Store by MacRumors and verified across active Apple TV 4K devices, the release marks the first time Instagram has officially targeted Apple's living-room ecosystem. While mobile versions emphasize photo grids, direct messaging, and ephemeral Stories, the tvOS client focuses almost exclusively on continuous video feeds, creator livestreams, and full-screen vertical Reels adapted for large televisions.

The interface utilizes Apple's Siri Remote for swipe-driven navigation, allowing viewers to cycle vertically through Reels, bookmark clips, and view creator bios without entering complex credentials on television screens. Users authenticate simply by scanning an on-screen QR code from an iPhone or iPad with an active Instagram session.

The release arrives as short-form video giants aggressively pursue living room screen time to challenge YouTube and traditional streaming platforms. With Meta actively courting microdrama producers creating episodic, serialized fiction specifically formatted for mobile video algorithms, a dedicated Apple TV app positions Reels directly within household entertainment centers.
