Dell's New UltraSharp U3226QER Brings a Silver Finish and a Higher Price to Amazon

A newly listed 32-inch Thunderbolt 4 monitor appears to match Dell's existing U3225QE on core specifications, but its Amazon-exclusive version currently carries a substantial price premium.

Dell has introduced another version of its 32-inch UltraSharp Thunderbolt Hub Monitor, although buyers looking for a major hardware upgrade may struggle to find one. German technology publication ComputerBase reported on October 31 that the UltraSharp U3226QER had appeared in product listings on October 29, with Amazon identified as its exclusive retailer. The monitor closely resembles the existing U3225QE, which Dell originally introduced in January 2025.

According to ComputerBase's comparison, the most obvious distinction is cosmetic. The U3226QER uses an entirely silver exterior, including its display bezel, while the older U3225QE combines a black bezel with a silver housing and stand. ComputerBase could not identify other substantive differences between the two models from the published specifications.

The new monitor retains a 31.5-inch IPS Black panel with 3840-by-2160 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a stated 3,000:1 contrast ratio. The connectivity specifications include Thunderbolt 4 input and output, DisplayPort 1.4 input and output, HDMI 2.1 supporting 4K at 120Hz, three USB-C connections, five USB-A ports, and 2.5Gbps Ethernet. Dell also advertises 99% DCI-P3 coverage, 10-bit color, and factory calibration with Delta E below 1.5.

The price difference is considerably larger than the apparent design change. ComputerBase found the Amazon-exclusive U3226QER listed at approximately €979, while the earlier U3225QE was available from other retailers for roughly €750. That represents a premium of approximately €229 based on the prices observed in the October 31 report. Both figures are German-market retailer prices rather than confirmed US launch prices.

For customers considering a monitor that doubles as a workstation connectivity hub, the original U3225QE therefore remains a relevant comparison. Features such as KVM switching, picture-in-picture, and picture-by-picture are also listed for the newer version. ComputerBase's findings suggest that the purchasing decision currently rests on retail availability, exterior styling, and price rather than an identified improvement in display performance. No independent performance testing of the U3226QER was established by the report.
